Make it easy to sign up on a class snack calendar & remind parents when it’s their turn

Free and easy online sign up sheets with reminders from VolunteerSpot make managing the snack schedule a breeze. Here’s an article with snack schedule sign up sheet examples over on VolunteerSpot’s blog.

Have a backup plan

Keep a few boxes of cereal squares or granola bars stashed in the teacher’s supply closet to cover if a parent misses a turn.  Ask the teacher to alert you if she needs to break into the snack stash.  Don’t jump to conclusions about why a parent missed a turn, instead, politely invite them to sign up for a future spot and suggest they replace the back-up-snack in the teacher’s supply.  Be sensitive, not all parents can afford to help with snack duty.  Suggested note:

Oops!  Did you know today was your turn to provide snack for Ms. H’s class today?  If there was a mixup, please click this link to go to our class snack calendar and choose a new day <paste link>.  We appreciate you replacing the backup snack which was served today. Please send a replacement of {list items} the next time you go shopping. If your family can’t participate in snack duty for any reason, please let me know and we’ll take you off the schedule.

May I simply say what a comfort to find someone who actually understands what they’re talking about online.
You defijnitely understand how to bring ann issue
to light and make it important. More people really need
to check this out and understand this side of the story.
I was surprised you are not more popular given that you most certainly have the gift.
