A recent survey by VolunteerSpot & WeAreTeachers
of 1000 school parents and teachers exposes key understandings in the need and use of parent volunteers in school.

As teachers and parents both celebrate parent involvement in the classroom and at school events, alarming disparities in communication and coordination call for teachers (and room parents like you) to take a strategic step in bridging communication gaps and overcoming coordination obstacles that prevent parents from making a real difference in the classroom.

The survey also shows that teachers are wanting help in different education areas where parent volunteers just are not currently assisting. For example, in addition to class parties and weekly readers, teachers really want curriculum support through learning center helpers, tutors and homework helpers. Read more key takeaways here.
